Teaser Tuesday- October 20, 2015

Its Time for a Teaser Tuesday!! This weekly meme is hosted by the lovely Miz B @ A Daily Rhythm. Check out her blog!!

If you don’t know about the Teaser Tuesday, here are the rules:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

So, I have been using a lot of quotes from The Raven Boys lately so I’m going to instead start quoting from another book I am currently reading; although I am seriously loving the banter between Gansey and Ronan!

24331115         After Alice by Gregory Maguire Add it to your TBR

When Alice toppled down the rabbit-hole 150 years ago, she found a Wonderland as rife with inconsistent rules and abrasive egos as the world she left behind. But what of that world? How did 1860s Oxford react to Alice’s disappearance?

In this brilliant new work of fiction, Gregory Maguire turns his dazzling imagination to the question of underworlds, undergrounds, underpinnings — and understandings old and new, offering an inventive spin on Carroll’s enduring tale. Ada, a friend of Alice’s mentioned briefly in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, is off to visit her friend, but arrives a moment too late — and tumbles down the rabbit hole herself.

Ada brings to Wonderland her own imperfect apprehension of cause and effect as she embarks on an odyssey to find Alice and see her safely home from this surreal world below the world. If Euridyce can ever be returned to the arms of Orpheus, or Lazarus can be raised from the tomb, perhaps Alice can be returned to life. Either way, everything that happens next isAfter Alice.

“I think it’s rather dear,” said the Sheep. “I should like to take it home and hang it’s head on the wall above my occasional table.” -pg 172

“It’s so real, yet so banal,” said the Sheep. -pg 172

I hope this makes you interested in reading it! I love Gregory Maguire! His Wicked series is phenomenal.

Until next time my beautiful friends,

*Jackie*
